A Cape fur seal (Arctocephalus pusillus) uses a paddle boarder's foot as a chew toy. Living up to their name as "dogs of the sea", most seals are naturally inquisitive and playful. Like true dogs, they don't draw blood when play-biting. Duiker Island off Hout Bay, South Africa.
A Cape fur seal regulates its body temperature in the cool Atlantic waters off the Cape Peninsula by floating upside down with one of its highly vascularized flippers sticking out of the water to catch the warmth of the sun. Photographed at Duiker Island off Hout Bay, South Africa.
